Caitlyn’s Last Fling Before the Ring – Pt. 4

Gift Bags

When I was little, the best birthday parties involved ice cream cake, a sleepover and party favors! I had one friend whose Mom would fill them with pillows, trinket boxes from Claire’s, and a sheet of those adhesive earrings where one would stay stuck for hours, but the other would disappear into the tangles of your hair after minutes. Even though party favors seemed to fall out of style during our teenage years, I knew that a bachelorette party had to have party favors. A lot of sites that talked about bachelorette parties featured a ‘Bachelorette Survival Kit’, filled with Advil, hair ties, a bottle of water, and something to help remember the occasion. As much as I loved some of the ideas, as we had a a male friend (no worries, it wasn’t the groom) attending the party, I had to make the gifts more unisex. Here’s what I came up with:

Instead of buying individual container’s of Advil, I’ve been in love with Pinch Provision’s Mini-Mergency kits since I’ve first spotted them at J. Crew. They’re no bigger than a small potato, but they’re stocked with 21 things, including Advil, band aid’s, and breath mint’s. To suit the array of guests in attendance, they also feature a special Bride themed one, and most importantly, one for men! For the rest of the guests, I chose a glittery blue kit to match the sparkly diamond’s that were a part of the paper chain.

All of the ladies also received purple hair ties, useful for holding back their hair while they applied makeup or for the morning hangover.

As a special touch, each guest also received a personalized coffee tumbler, to be used either the night before for drinking, or the day after for rehydration. They were personalized with each guest’s name and ‘Caitlyn’s Bachelorette’! Of course, I requested that Caitlyn’s say ‘My Bachelorette’!

Tucked into each tumbler was a sparkly diamond cutout, a pack of gum, and amazing personalized bachelorette party tattoo’s that would help to identify us as a group. In a weird twist of fate, one of the guests suffered from pittakionophobia, a fear of sticky labels, and was physically uncomfortable with putting the tattoos on herself. I think only a small amount of people suffer from this fear, so don’t be discouraged from having tattoo’s at your own bachelorette party.

Everything was packaged in purple gift bags with a ‘Bachelorette Survival Kit’ tag and set up in the room. As excited as I was to see Caitlyn’s face when she saw all the decorations, I was even more anxious about seeing everyone’s reactions to the party favors. Planning them actually inspired this blog 🙂
