Happy New Year!

January 3, 2016
Sparklers!

I love the fresh start that the New Year brings. For some, myself included, the looming New Year brings with it a lot of dread. As of the 29th, I didn’t have any NYE plans, wasn’t sure what my New Year’s resolutions were going to be, and I was just not looking forward to 2016. Thankfully, I received a text from one of my friends, asking if I wanted to join her in drinking champagne and watching the ball drop. Our small two-person celebration soon turned into a party of hour, and with only 9 hours to go till the new year, I ducked out of lab early to run to TJMaxx where I snagged some glittery champagne flutes and the most amazing chocolates (seriously, they’re pink, infused with champagne and they have the Queen of England’s seal of approval!).

All ready to ring in the New Year! #clink #TraderJoes

My resolutions came together an hour before the party was to start:

  1. Stay positive and have confidence in yourself
  2. Shop less, save more
  3. Focus on you (your schoolwork, your health) – procrastinate less and don’t dwell on things you can’t change
  4. Blog more*

*I only posted 45 times in 2015. Fingers crossed that I’ll double that this year.

The start of 2016 will be busy as I prep for my qualifying exam en-route to my PhD. Near the end of the year, I’ll be a bridesmaid in a close friend’s wedding, and of course, I’ll share with you all of the bachelorette party details. I’ll also be posting about how to plan a nautical themed bachelorette, a bachelorette brunch, and whatever else crosses my mind. Cheer’s to the first post of the new year!

PS – Who’s ready for the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale tomorrow? I’ve linked to one of my favorite bloggers, Kelly in the City, for her tips on shopping the sale.
