Holiday Office Party

Holiday Office Party
Ever since one of my friends gave me a gift that was absolutely not to my taste, and I upset him by not being able to express the proper enthusiasm, I’ve been scared that I’ll disappoint someone when I open their present. I shouldn’t have worried this Christmas, as it was full of warm flannel shirts and a monogrammed laptop sleeve, both of which are things I wanted. My roommate was worried that I wouldn’t like her present, but her gift of Christmas Cookie scented coffee beans and the cupcake sweater shown above was totally me. For a time I was completely obsessed with cupcakes, so our apartment has a gazillion cupcake cookbooks, a cupcake blanket, and other cupcake things sprinkled about it (no pun intended). Although the sweater would go great with jeans, it’s sparkly nature and holiday design beg for it to be dressed up. Like every other 90’s girl, I’ve wanted a tulle skirt ever since Sex and the City, and after a lot of shopping around I finally found a gorgeous one at Nordstrom. Well actually, I originally saw it at Anthropologie, but I’d have to pay $14 to ship it. Like everything I post, I haven’t bought it yet because of its high cost, but after writing and editing this post, I will have looked at it so much that I’ll just need to have it. Happily, my Mom found a Nordstrom note in her purse, so that helps to sway me in the purchasing direction.
There’s just something about a sparkly sweater and a fluffy skirt, paired with a pair of patent leather pumps, that’s just great for a holiday event. The whole outfit is fun, festive, and completely functional for a holiday office party. It could also be worn to host a New Year’s Eve get together, which is what I’m primarily planning on purchasing it for.

Merry Christmas!!
