My Dad loves burning candles – there’s always been a Yankee Candle burning on our butcher block from the moment I get home to when I go to sleep. They were always food scented, a preference which he has passed on to me (excepting pine, it’s my favorite winter scent). Even now I’m burning a maple pancake scented candle. A little over a month ago I went into Bath and Body Works for a Scentportable refill and I walked out with three mini lemon mint candles. So basically, I have an addiction. A somewhat expensive addiction, if I shop anywhere other than the Yankee Candle outlet.
Reminiscent of the scent of limes carried on a Caribbean sea breeze, Lime Basil & Mandarin has become a modern classic for men and women. Fresh limes and zesty mandarins are undercut by peppery basil and aromatic white thyme in this alluring signature blend. With a stunning bouquet lit across four wicks, the Lime Basil & Mandarin Luxury Candle envelops a room and lingers for hours to create an ambiance of warmth, sophistication and style. It is the ultimate luxury.
If I ever feel like splurging, Nordstrom sells a $500 candle. I originally thought that they had input the wrong price and I chatted with an online consultant to verify it. Too bad I didn’t screenshot our conversation, because before she verified it, she was positive that it must have been a mistake because how could one candle be so expensive?!
Made by Jo Malone, her Lime Basil & Mandarin Luxury Candle is 88 oz and burns for ~230 hours. To compare, Yankee Candle’s large jar candle is 22 oz, burns for ~150 hours, and is only $30 (it’s practically a steal!). In spite of the price tag, for some, this candle is invaluable to their life happiness.
Even though it’s sold out at Saks, don’t miss out on your opportunity to buy it from Nordstrom! (sarcasm) But for the frugal few, the scent is offered in a 2.1 oz travel candle for $35.
